Christmas Dance Recital

Dance is serious business with Miss Sharon. She does not mess around. Kids need to be on time, wearing specific outfits and listening very well. Jane had her performance the week before Christmas. I am so proud of Jane for getting up in front of people to dance, because she has yet to do that with public speaking. Even if she doesn't become a prima ballerina, it's so good for her. She takes it so seriously, and practices at home. Jane's word for leotard: "Ladytard." Last year she danced with Frelly the whole year, and this year she is with Ava Olsen. They have so much fun together. I am so proud of her!

Christmas Festivities

A couple of my favorite things that have happened this month are:
1)Ward Christmas Party-Henry hated sitting on Santa's lap
2) The story of the advent Calendar
We went to Trader Joe's and I got advent calendars for Jane and Henry. I left them alone for 2 minute while I unloaded the groceries, and low and behold what did I find? But a guilty toddler who had eaten every single solitary chocolate out of his Calendar. I'm sure his sister helped him too, but it was pretty darn fun! Good times, good times-

I am thankful for . . .

Wicked!

One of my favorite things to do as a child was go to musicals. My Dad hasn't stopped that tradition. Every time we would see a new one we would listen to the music for months before to prepare. By the time we made it to the play, I always had the music memorized verbatim! This year we went to one of the very best-Wicked!! It was magical. Our seats were so close that we could hear a pin drop! Watching Jane's eyes was my favorite part. She was in heaven. She kept calling it "the playdate at the Wicked." She didn't move the entire performance, and wants to go back. Her favorite was watching Glinda in the bubble. I was so excited to finally have a child old enough to take. The whole family went which was definitely a night to remember. We started off in the office parking lot looking at at trunk full of pb&j's, waters, m&m's and rice krispy treats. My Mom had a bag labeled for every family in case we got hungry on the drive up to LA ! We then found ourselves at the greasy Tommy's eating chili hot dogs & hamburgers. Between all of us, we make a serious entrance no matter where we go! There are so many kids now it's hilarious. The performance was magnificent! I felt like I was back studying abroad at London going to the theatre! This was a definite memory!!! Thank you Mom & Dad!

Happy Halloween!

On Halloween night we spent a quiet evening eating chili and cornbread and trick-or-treating with just our little family.
Jane was supposed to be the tin-man from the Wizard of Oz and Henry was supposed to be the scarecrow. Jane wanted to wear a princess dress and Henry refused to wear the hay and a hat. The costumes didn't quite work out as planned!

Aunt Mo-Mo's house a couple days before.
Here is a classic line from Jane regarding Grace and Frell:
"she's my sister and my cousin."
She tells me all of the time. Even though that is physically impossible, I have to agree with her!
