"I like to move it . . move it . . "

Jane's dance recital this year was once again a hit. She had two numbers, a ballet one where she was a sun; and a tap one where they danced to "i like to move it, move it." It's a week of serious business with make-up, hair spray, rehearsal and the big show. We are so proud of Jane!

The man of many faces!

These pictures were taken after Henry's 2nd birthday. Henry is famous for all of this different facial expressions. I always laugh at his mean face. In the past 6 months it has evolved into an even meaner face, which is absolutely hilarious. He now makes it if he ever wants an airplane, rocket ship, or truck to "blast off." One of my favorite things about Henry are his teeth. They are all different shapes & sizes. On the side he has very sharp ones that often cut his mouth, usually once a week. It's his signature. We are expecting braces for this little guy.

Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving was great this year. We got to have it at home, and I was the host! Jennifer & Marty and Tom & Maryam came to dinner. Maryam and I made 2 turkey's, making them opposite ways and compared the flavor and tenderness. I used all of Mom's original recipes and had help with pies, rolls, etc. Overall, a hot meal was put on the table that turned out just great. It was a fabulous day. We ended the night with The Polar Express getting excited about our next holiday! Henry & Jane's favorite thing on the table was the sparkling cider!

Jane's Thanksgiving Show

It was Jane's first official Kindergarten performance the week school got out for thanksgiving. Mrs. Markel is her teacher, who is our good friend "Harpo" from childhood. She was Jennifer's best friend growing up. Jane and I feel so lucky to have her for Jane's teacher. At the performance they sang some of the cutest songs. My very favorite was one about fast food; "Pizza Hut, Pizza Hut, Kentucky Friend Chicken and a Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Taco Bell, Kentucky Fried Chicken and a Pizza Hut." I had to write it down exactly so I would remember the tune in years to come. They would shake their little hips on the "taco bell" part. It was so fun to watch. They also held up their individual pictures of what they were thankful for this year. Jane's was "My Mommy." I felt so proud at that little moment when she stated what she was thankful for. Everyday when I drop her off at Kindergarten I yell out the window that I love her. She turns around every time and tells me that she loves me too. I know that little moment will soon end, but I cherish it while I have it. Jane has definitely come out of her shell this year. It's as if she is a different kid. Out with the shy, quiet Jane and in with the confident, happy, friendly Jane. I couldn't be more proud of who she is growing into. I know that a lot of it doesn't have to do with me, it's who she is innately. But I like to think that it does. She is such a sweet little spirit that I feel lucky to have with me everyday.
